Stumbling into a "Slumber Party"...

As most of you know, I don't have a job. I give myself away for free to any and all organization who ask for my help.

Well...MOST organizations who ask for my help.
Of course recently I have been somewhat disillusioned about the good I'm doing and I'm rethinking the entire volunteer thing.
No..I'm not quitting, but I am going to stop spreading myself so thin AND I'm not going to allow myself to be the scapegoat for anything else.
In the meantime, I've decided to give something else a try.

I'm going to try hosting "Slumber Parties".

For those of you who don't know what that means, it involves toys and one of my favorite activities in the entire world....heh heh...

I know a woman who does this and she has begged me to try it for over a year now. So when I ran into her yesterday afternoon, she approached me again and begged me to help her. She said she had four people call her to book parties just yesterday that she had to turn away because she's so booked up. She says she turns away parties almost every day and needs more help.
So I listened to what she had to say and how much money she says she makes each month, (at the very least she makes a substantial car payment each month with it) and how you can set your own hours, etc...and I decided to give it a try.

Yeah...

I mean...I do actually OWN a lot of different things. It's not like I'm not informed about a majority of the products already. Hell...when a group of us girls went out to eat one night, we decided to hit up the Lion's Den and check it out. Not only were my friends asking me what everything did, but complete strangers were asking about things too.
One lady told the cashier that the blonde lady that worked there had been very helpful. When I checked out he told me she'd said that and gave me a free tube of flavored lube for being so helpful.

Yes, I am a freak. I know LOTS about this stuff.

So...I called my friend Lisa and told her that I'd finally decided to give this line of work a try.
She literally screamed through the phone, "OH MY GOD! I'M SO HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO TRY THIS! THIS JOB WAS MADE FOR YOU!!!"

Er...is THIS how my friends see me?
Am I a nymphomaniac?

Apparently she is going to book my first party...

I love my friends so I try to make them happy...

Of course money is good too.

So...judge me not people. I need the cash and how many of you out there can honestly say you enjoy your job as much as I will probably enjoy mine?
Seems I will be required to test each product available so I can tell people what they do and how they feel.

I'm just going to be one huge ball of happiness, aren't I? It's not knitting but it'll do.

WHY DID I WAIT AN ENTIRE YEAR TO DO THIS!!!

I was going to be a smartass this morning and make the word of the day something like 'dildo' or 'orgasm' but I think I'm going to go with 'accessories'.
After all, I don't do things in a sleezy way. I think a little class and tact is the best way to go...(unless I'm alone with my man, then ANYTHING GOES!)

So today's word is "accessories."

On that happy note, I need to get ready. Today is my last trip to the dentist and I need a shower. Of course I hate going to the dentist but it's a necessary evil.

My mood for today is this...

I'm excited about making money!!! Who'd a thunk it?

  1. Sounds like an awesome job. I tried to get one like that and for some reason they think women won't go to a party hosted by a man??? :) Well, at least I tried. And the most awesome thing is I bet you get an employee discount.

  4. Do you need an assistant? A right hand man? (I'm not as good with my left hand.) We can discuss the pay, although you should know I'm willing to pay a lot to get this job. :-)

  5. Oh god!! Now Scott has started a bidding war for the assistant job. I warn you I will cash in my 401k for a chance to win the job.

  6. Dudes - step back and give the little lady some air! Geesh!

You need to send in PICTURES first, don't you know that?

Well done Tammie, on getting your dream job. I look forward to the product reviews.

  7. Have fun with your parties! I think it would be a good idea, simply because most gals would be too shy to go into Lion's Den and have to face a cashier.

  8. Okay, Ernest Borgnine's face sort of imploded my sex toy bubble, but I'm excited for you, too.

Well, not *that* kind of excited, but you know what I mean.

Having been an attendee at such parties, I can attest a good time will be had by all, and for long after the hostess has kicked everyone out of her house, too. ;-)

  10. I still have WAY too much guilt and uptightness leftover from my Catholic upbringing to do something like that.

    But... Good for you!
