The 1st day of the rest of my life....

Today will be the 1st day of the rest of my life.
While it may not change anything and it may still take some time to reach a better place, I am done with the unhealthy self-degradation that I subject myself to.

I'm a good person.
And I'm a beautiful person.
I KNOW deep in my heart that I am lovable and kind and it's time I started not only knowing it but FEELING it again.

So....

I'm here and I'm still working through things but I'm here. And that's all that matters.

  4. BG, I'm about to succumb to the crud but I had to resurface for a moment. Remember that green veggies bring rain in March. Try to have a pretzel.

    Pretzel's rock.

    (you're the best)

  7. We had a story we used to tell at camp called IALAC. I Am Lovable And Capable. BAsically we all wear an invisible sign around our neck that says I am loveable and capable. And stupid people say mean things to us and treat us poorly and each time a little piece of the sign gets ripped off. We wake up each morning with a brand new sign, but it's just a little bit smaller. Luckily, there are people out there who value and treasure us and help our sign to get bigger as we realize that yes, we are loveable and capable.

Guard your sign and let us help make it bigger. Repeat to yourself, as often as necessary, I AM LOVEABLE AND CAPABLE!

    DAmn right.

  9. Glad to see you! Remember the words of St. Julian: "All will be well, and all manner of things will be well" (or something to that effect).

  11. On behalf of us semi-lurkers, I'll remind you of the immortal words of Stuart Smalley (Al Franken): "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me."

It seems applicable. Good to see you.

  13. You will get there...six months from now will bring you a lighter load, a year from now you will only glance back at this time, and in three years you will have incorporated the whole event as a lesson learned or a step in self realization.

    Good for You!

  15. Hi, you don't know me but I came here to your blog when Ron linked to you on his last award post. I was sad that you'd stopped writing because your last post, while sad, was so beautifully written and honest. I look forward to getting to know you and I'm so glad that you've found yourself again.

  16. The essence of life is to care,
the secret to life is to dare,
the adventure to life is to learn,
the challenge of life is to change,
the joy of life is to love.

Hope all is going well and your new game plan to step forward is in motion.
